Oriental School of Hotel Management has again grabbed the prestigious Tourism Award for Best Hotel Management College in Kerala from the department of tourism, Government of Kerala. This is the seventh time Oriental School of Hotel Management has been announced with the award. We received this award for the first time in 2006, then consecutively for 5 years and again for the year 2012-13 for the sixth time and now for the seventh time for 2013-2014. Oriental School of Hotel Management came into existence in the year 1995, which is situated at Valley View, Lakkidi, Wayanad district in northern Kerala. The campus is surrounded by picturesque hills, and is nestled at height of 3000 ft. above the sea level and is on a panoramic location for studying Tourism and Hotel Management Courses in Kerala. The Institution is owned and managed by the Malabar Hotel Management & Catering Promotion Trust (MHMCPT) - A charitable trust formed with an intention of promoting the Hospitality and Tourism industry and promoting quality education in Hotel Management. Mr.N.K.Mohammed, an NRI and a tourism and hospitality promoter is the Chairman and Managing Trustee, who is also the Managing Director of Vythiry Village – a luxury spa resort located at Vythiri. Mr.K.C.Robbins is the Principal and Director of this prestigious Institute.
This award announced is surely recognition to the very active Tourism Club of Oriental School of Hotel Management and various activities conducted by the different departments of Hotel Management and Tourism departments. At this point we value our association with department of tourism government of Kerala for making Oriental School of Hotel management as an active participant of Boomithrasena an active initiative by Directorate of Environment and Climate change. Oriental is also a very active member of Encon Club, by BPCL for making an environment friendly better world. Oriental School of hotel Management also actively participated in the international MTB Challenge in 2013 and in 2014, our students were active volunteers in conducting the event – Mountain by Challenge. Oriental School of Hotel Management has been closely associated with Wayanad Tourism Organization, and especially in conducting Splash- Monsoon Tourism Fest - every year. The Competition Success Review Magazines have also rated Oriental School of Hotel Management as one of the Top Hotel Management Colleges in India in its April 2015 issue.
